I was a drop in patient. The receptionist (Anna) was very friendly and informative. My broken Portuguese didn't get me very far, but she switched into English easily. It was a bit of a long wait (3 1/2 hours), but I was seen by a very friendly young doctor who explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. I would go back without hesitation.

Bom dia, tenho ido diversas vezes ao HPA e não tenho tido qualquer reclamação. Hoje vim á Clínica de São Gonçalo em Lagos para fazer exames e infelizmente não fui bem atendida . Houve um equívoco que dizem ter sido da minha parte, isto é, esperei mais de meia hora para ser atendida na recepção.Mesmo achando que a culpa foi minha a funcionária foi um pouco rude. Obrigada

Não existem palavras para descrever a incompetência neste hospital pagamos e calamos.

1) I am an MD, PhD having practiced both at Lund University Hospital, Lund, Sweden and at Yale University, New Haven Conn. USA. 2) I have made multiple attempts to make a reclamation at the HPA site. If it obvious that HPA makes every effort for any customer to file a complaint through this avenue by raising a number of bureaucratic obstacles, instead of making any filing a simple complaint using your own name, and possibly some additional details which they already have on file in their system. 3) I am up for a cataract surgery in Alvor in a couple of days. I have received no information on the procedure, any local anaesthesia or post-operative care. If would have been quite simple to write a simple memorandum to inform the patient about these and other relevant matters! While I, with a reasonable knowledge about what is going to happen, this is not the case for a majority of patients. Ulf Sjobring

Urgências - equipas espetaculares. Entrei às 06h00 super rápido atendimento, devido ao tratamento fiquei até as 09h00 e apanhei a troca do turno. Ambas as equipas de enfermagem e ambas as equipas de médicos foram espetaculares.

We’ve needed this hospital more times than I’d like, but each time the staff have been great. We arrived in NYE at the emergency department and were seen in minutes by a really helpful and friendly doctor who went out of her way to make sure we were okay even after her shift finished. We’ve also used other departments and the nuclear medicine department multiple times, which has particularly fast, friendly and efficient staff. Staff all seem to speak multiple languages English, French etc. Grateful to have this hospital not far from where we live and wanted to leave a review because so many people go on the internet to complain, I’m sure tainting this hospital’s average, but I have had nothing but positive experiences using it each and every time.

MY daughter had a huge stroke, we put her straight in the car and drove her to Alvor, phoned en route to advise of the emergency. They were waiting for us on arrival and due to her medical complexities they were scanning and liaising with a specialist neurologist in Lisbon. She was treated on a one to one basis. She was treated professionally and they liaised with me ( her mother) , and kept me informed of her treatment. A week later she was discharged. Without their speed, knowledge and support I have no doubt that she would have had a lasting disability!

Você chega em estado de emergência médicos passan de um lado pro outro rindo batendo papo olham pra sua cara como se vc estivesse fazendo drama vc espera por 4h para ser atendida pelos mesmos quão estão sentados sem clientes e ainda tem que pagar um absurdo de valor pelo atendimento imprestável sem ética

Excellent hospital, received quickly, surgical care immediately. Very attentive and competent receptionist and surgeon. The price of the treatment is reasonable. I would be happy to come here if we need it.

After trying to get someone answering the phone to get an appointment ,for more than an hour,i went to this clinic to extract a metal splinter from my eye.beeing sent to urgency,with the promise to get a specialist,i waited two hours,then a general doctor and a nurse tried to fix me with rudimental methods,without any success,making it worse,and be told that will not be a specialist coming,and to go to the public hospital in Faro,where they fixed the issue in less than an hour,from the entrance time untill the job was done.they anyway charged me ridiculous expansive bill to scratch my eye.

Très bien organisé, personnel multilingue mais tarifs très élevés en ophtalmologie !

Addmitted to Gambelas Hospitial Faro, over a four day peiod for an operation for a hysterectomy. Chose this Hospital because of its reputaion and proximity to my home address. I would not hesitate recommending this Hospital to friends or family. From the first consultaion with the Dr to attending at the hospital, having my operation and being discharged from the Hospital my treatment was first class. All the members of the staff from the Dr,s Nurses and admin staff was excellent helpful and friendly.
