I’ve found her quite knowledgeable and eager to help. Even though my surgery was postponed (through no one’s fault) she dealt with the situation very professionally and kept me fully updated leaving me trusting her initiative manner and not needing to chase anything up. TWLS are lucky to have her 😊

Unpleasant staff

On the 18th of September, 2024, I won a court case against Tonic Weight Loss Surgery. This case was heard at Leeds County Court and is a matter of public record. It perhaps speaks for itself that things had reached the stage where going to court felt like the only option in dealing with this business. Still, apart from their lawyer, it was a shame that no one from the business itself felt brave enough to turn up and answer some questions in the court room. As anyone who reads the court transcript will discover, the judge was less than impressed. In August of 2023, I made contact with Tonic and paid a £750.00 deposit for surgery. However, on the advice of my GP, I cancelled the surgery within the 14 day cooling off period. Tonic advised that they would return some of my deposit but that they would be keeping a £125.00 “admin fee”. It turns out that this money was retained illegally (in court, the judge ordered that Tonic must return this money to me with interest, which they did.

TONIC ARE FANTASTIC - I had a Gastric Sleeve procedure with Mr Awad in Derby in March 2018, the care and support I have received from my surgeon, the hospital and the aftercare team at Tonic is just amazing, the best thing I've ever done, it has given me my life back, so please I picked Tonic Surgery and would highly recommend them to anyone who is thinking of having weight loss surgery.

Perfect support and guidance from start to finish. Lydia Clarke supported my enquiry and helped lead things at my pace which was extremely important for such a big decision. I had lots of questions, and she made sure everything was answered in detail. I decided to proceed with Mr Al-Taan, who I couldn't have been happier with. As soon as I met him, I had an instant level of trust in him as my surgeon. The procedure was done at Watford, which I recommend as the facilities and staff were fantastic. If you're reading this review, you're probably about to make one of your biggest life decisions - if it's any help, Tonic will leave you with no regrets.

Found the consultation with Mr Awad to be quite patronising and it became clear he simply wanted to end the call early. I went in enquiring about a gastric band and explaining what appealed to me and Mr Awad took my meaning the complete wrong way. Have since been enquiring elsewhere with other companies and have found them all to treat me like a human being. I don't care how long you have trained for (I am sure you are very good at what you do) you don't get to assume the intelligence of others and treat them as lesser beings. The follow up was poor from Tonic, its clear the notes made on my consultation were "wanted a band, said no and why. Decided she is not willing to blindly give us £10,250 straight away so waste of time"

I had a gastric sleeve done in May 2019. I have lost just shy of 5 stone in 1 year. I was very hesitant to do the operation at age 22 but it's the best decision I ever made. Mr. Awad was kind and efficient throughout and the Tonic team have been constantly supporting me. The op went very smoothly and the lift to and from the Derby hospital and London was such a considerate feature. The first 3-4 weeks are tough but completely worth it. I'm well adjusted to my new stomach now. I don't feel like I'm deprived of anything. I feel like now my body isn't always working against me and gaining weight disproportionately. I feel totally in control of my weight and have been quite effortlessly shedding kilos! Thank you Mr. Awad & Tonic for getting me to feel like myself again!

So far the service has been outstanding. Please note that i have not underwent the surgery yet, due to COVID19 restrictions. However, as soon as i registered interest i was called by Cat, and given all the information necessary. Dr Sutton then took the time to have a lengthy discussion on the pros and cons of different WLS options, answering any and all of my queries. The rest of the team have all made contact, and what i have most liked so far is the transparency and simplified documents supplied, to help me understand each element of the procedure, pre and post-op. It is a very nice feeling to know that there is a group of people who are available and welcome any questions you may have, especially when it is such a major life change. I actually had my heart set on a different clinic, but decided to shop around, and Tonic's professionalism (plus value) swayed me.

After debating the decision for nearly 2 years, I finally went ahead with a gastric sleeve operation with Mr Sherif Awad and the Tonic team in November 2018. It was the best decision I have ever made and I now feel fantastic. To date, I have lost 5 and a half stone / 35 kilos in just over 5 months and the weight continues to fall off. Mr Awad and his team (at both Tonic and the Royal Derby Hospital) have been excellent, attentive, supportive and caring during the initial consultations, pre-operation, at the hospital itself and postoperatively. The results post operation have been incredible. I would highly recommend Mr Awad and the Tonic team - the service they have provided has been second to none!

Well, what can I say I went for my first consultation, I received a warm welcome as soon as I went through the door. The staff are very friendly, I felt like I knew them for years. Then I met my consultant Dr Sutton what a lovely man, he explained everything inside and out I didn’t have to ask any questions as the questions were as answered before I’d even ask them. Can’t wait to have my surgery with Tonic, I'm feeling so relaxed and excited. Fantastic. I felt so valued and listened to.

A year ago I spoke to someone from Tonic Weight Loss, and I finally decided to have my gastric sleeve done a few months back. I’m already seeing results now - in fact, I’m more than halfway towards my goal weight. I would have paid more for the treatment, considering how fantastic everything went. The clinic was clean and presentable - they exceeded my expectations. I was a little disappointed when they initially told me they wouldn’t be able to do the procedure on account of my blood type, but everything was explained well and they were so patient at the consultation. When I returned, the surgery went smoothly. The amazing staff provided an excellent service. I’ll need to go back in six months, but I’m just waiting for the appointment now. Overall it’s been a beautiful experience.

My daughter would like a gastric band, she hasn’t had the treatment yet but is very impressed with Tonic. Very impressed with Tonic. Great communication from the start, extremely helpful and fantastic packages. Would definitely recommend.

I would just like to say how pleased I am with my surgery from Tonic. From the moment I rang up about a gastric band, they were lovely helpful and reassuring. They made me laugh and not feel bad about myself. It has been 12 weeks after my operation and I have lost 6 stone. I feel amazing about myself. Tonic has phoned me every day for a few weeks, and now once a week with support and advice. The girls are all lovely. Dr. Sutton and Emma were really nice and supportive during my stay at the BMI Park Hospital. If you are thinking of having the surgery go for it. It has changed my life completely. Amazing, I am so pleased with the level of service I have received from TONIC. I highly recommend them.

Tonic is a great organization. Within days I had a date for my procedure with Mr. Awad and he contacted me throughout. They have a team of dieticians, nurses, and PT. Since my procedure, they have contacted me daily. The doctor’s and Tonic are both great, do not hesitate to use these people, you will not regret it.

I had a consultation over the phone and I was happy with my surgeon and the info he provided. The surgery was 7 days later in Derby. The aftercare hasn't been what I expected and unfortunately, I did not have the support I had hoped for. The surgeon was great though and helpful at my follow-up appointments on Harley street. The Hospital was fantastic but the aftercare was a bit of a letdown from the dietician and psychotherapist side.

I am very happy with how my experience with the Weight loss surgery in Harley Street. I was extremely satisfied with the top quality service that I received and very pleased with the fact that there were no nasty surprises when it came to surprises. I was pleased to see that the clinic was not only visually attractive but the staff also took their professions and duties very seriously.

The tonic team are helpful , friendly and are there for me 247 , I'm glad I went with tonic for my gastric sleeve , Iv lost near 4 stone in 3 month , doctor chris Sutton is the best surgent and nurse Emma is lovely and so helpful , tonic is the way forward Brilliant

I went for Gastric Bypass Surgery and am extremely happy and satisfied with my treatment and service. I really pleased with how everything panned out. It was real value for treatment. I've had after care treatment with the clinic and everything is going well thus far. I ma happy. I would rate them 10. I chose the Tonic Weight Loss Surgery Harley Street because I saw the feedback and great review they had online. I was extremely impressed with the treatment I got and the general service and clinic facilities. Hence my ending up making the decision to take up my treatment with this clinic and not the other's I had considered.
