Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut R. Gündüz was born in Ankara in 1978. His educational journey, which started in Ankara, continued in Istanbul, where he received the title of Medical Doctor from the Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. Between 2005 and 2010, he completed his General Surgery residency at Istanbul Prof.Dr. Cemil Tascıoglu CITY HOSPITAL (Okmeydani Training and Research Hospital) and became a general surgery specialist. He maintained the work tempo to which he was accustomed during his residency at Antalya Training and Research Hospital, where he was appointed at the beginning of 2011. He operated on many patients in the fields of emergency surgery, laparoscopic surgery, hernia surgery, malignancy surgery, and obesity surgery. He applied for associate professorship with the scientific articles he published during his specialization; at the end of 2017, he successfully passed the associate professorship exam and received the title of associate professor.
