Dr. Michael S. Kourkoulos

Dr. Michael S. Kourkoulos is a highly experienced laparoscopic surgeon specializing in gastrointestinal and obesity surgery. With expertise in surgical oncology of the esophagus and stomach, anti-reflux and hiatal hernia surgery, bariatric procedures, and abdominal wall repair, he combines advanced techniques with patient-centered care. Dr. Kourkoulos has held leadership positions at premier institutions, including Director of Surgery at Euroclinic Athens and Mediterraneo Hospital. 

His tenure in the UK includes transformative roles at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Kingston Hospital, and St George's University Hospital, where he developed specialized units and performed complex surgeries. A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, he is also a dedicated trainer in laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Kourkoulos holds a Master of Science in Minimally Invasive Surgery and continues to serve patients in Greece, including his hometown, Rhodes.
