Dr. Alper Tuncel, MD, was born in Boston, USA, on August 13, 1972. He graduated from Ankara Private Yükselis College in 1990, one of the first private educational institutions in the capital city. Dr. Tuncel pursued his passion for medicine and completed his undergraduate education at Istanbul University's Faculty of Medicine in 1997.
From the onset of his studies, Dr. Tuncel aspired to become an Aesthetic, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgeon. He achieved this goal by earning his master’s degree in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialization from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 2004.
Following a tenure as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Assistant at the same university from 1998 to 2004, Dr. Tuncel gained valuable experience working alongside renowned maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Yaremchuk at Boston MGH (Mass. General Hospital) and Harvard Medical School. After completing six years of specialized training, he chose to return to Turkey to apply his expertise, declining an offer to stay in the USA.
Recognizing that Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons thrive in a freelance environment, Dr. Tuncel transitioned from two private hospitals, where he worked for three years, to embark on his independent career.
Dr. Alper Tuncel is proficient in English and has an intermediate level of proficiency in German. He is also notable for his academic and scientific contributions, including a published thesis on Neovascularization Penetrating Scar Tissue. He continues to enhance his knowledge through ongoing education and additional training.
