MD. Ugur Gunel

Prof. Dr. Ugur Gunel, born in 1954 in Osmaniye, is a distinguished figure in the field of Orthopedics and Traumatology. His journey in medicine began with graduating from Eskisehir Maarif College in 1972, followed by completing Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1978. During his educational years, he undertook an internship at the University of Cologne, Germany, Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Gunel obtained his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 1985, which he initiated at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1980.

Dr. Gunel's professional path includes serving as a Specialist Physician Sub-Lieutenant at Tatvan (Bitlis) Military Hospital and fulfilling his compulsory service as a Specialist Doctor in Aksehir (Konya) State Hospital. He commenced his specialist role at Ankara Sample Training and Research Hospital 2nd Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic in 1989. Additionally, he held a part-time lecturer position (in Biomechanics) at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences of the Middle East Technical University from 1990-1992. Achieving the title of Associate Professor in 1993, he assumed roles such as Deputy Chief Physician at Ankara Sample Training and Research Hospital and Assistant Chief of the 3rd Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic from 1992-1999. Since 1999, Dr. Gunel has been serving as the 4th Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic Chief at Ankara Sample Training and Research Hospital.
