Prof. Dr. Nezih OKTAR was born in Izmir in 1953. He graduated from Izmir College in 1968 and from Ankara Science High School in 1971. He then started his medical education at Ege University Faculty of Medicine and received his medical doctorate degree in 1977. He completed his specialty training at the same faculty and became a Neurosurgery Specialist in 1983.
Between 1985-1998, Prof. Dr. Nezih OKTAR served his compulsory service at Kütahya SSK Hospital, and between 1983-1985, he fulfilled his military service in the Brain Surgery Department of Izmir 800yt KKK Military Hospital. He was appointed as an Associate Professor in 1988 and as a Professor in 1997.
Prof. Dr. Nezih OKTAR has been serving as a faculty member in the Department of Neurosurgery at Ege University Faculty of Medicine since 1983, and he retired from this position in 2015. He continues his professional work at his private practice located in Alsancak, Izmir.
