About Us

Dr. Peter Vasas is a highly accomplished bariatric surgeon with extensive expertise in diabetes and metabolic surgery. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of Debrecen in 1999 and pursued higher surgical training at Semmelweis University, completing it in 2006.

Dr. Vasas gained advanced training in oesophago-gastric and minimally invasive surgery in the UK and has performed over 800 bariatric surgeries, maintaining a 0% anastomosis leak rate and operative mortality. His groundbreaking research, culminating in a PhD in 2017, focused on Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and its impact on type 2 diabetes.

A member of the editorial board of Obesity Surgery since 2019, Dr. Vasas actively contributes to advancing his field. He currently practices at the Duna Medical Center in Hungary, specializing in gastric bypass and sleeve surgeries while prioritizing exceptional patient outcomes.
