He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1986. After completing his compulsory service, he received specialization training in adult psychiatry. After completing his specialization in Adult Psychiatry, he completed his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry specialization training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and continued to work as a faculty member in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Hacettepe University. He became an associate professor in 1998 and a professor in 2005.
